With Amen Thompson's deal done, here's contract situation for each Rockets player in 2026-27 season

With the recent signing of Amen Thompson's five-year, $208 million contract extension through the 2031-32 season, the Houston Rockets feel confident that their young core will remain intact for several years to come. Alongside Thompson, center Alperen Şengün, guard Jabari Smith Jr. and forward Tari Eason have also agreed to new contracts in the past two years, which will keep them together for at least the next three years until Şengün's player option in 2029-30.

For the 2026-27 season, only Fred VanVleet and Bogdan Bogdanovic are certain to be free agents next offseason. Kevin Durant, who is currently under contract for two more years with a player option worth $46.1 million for the 2027-28 season, remains a key player for the team. Marcus Smart, who signed with Houston in July, has a $6.3 million player option for the 2027-28 season.
