Veep praises Deputy Agric Minister for promoting made in Ghana products

Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang lauded Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo, for his efforts in promoting Ghanaian-made rice and other locally produced foods. In a recent social media post, the Vice President lauded Dumelo's efforts in encouraging Ghanaians to support locally produced food. "I applaud John Dumelo for actively promoting the use of made-in-Ghana rice and other locally produced foods," she remarked.

The Vice President urged Ghanaians to increase their consumption of locally produced food and to produce what they consume. "Choosing locally produced food supports hardworking Ghanaian farmers, strengthens local businesses, keeps more value within the economy and creates jobs along the agricultural value chain," she explained.

The government is committed to supporting increased agricultural production through initiatives such as the Feed Ghana Programme, the Vice President noted. However, she emphasized that government efforts must be matched by consumer choices. "Government action must be matched by our choices as consumers," she stated. She encouraged Ghanaians to take pride in consuming products made locally, saying, "Let us proudly consume what Ghana produces."
