US-Iran hostilities surge as strikes hit Gulf bases, shipping routes

A tense standoff between the United States and Iran has escalated, with strikes hitting Iranian military and maritime targets, while Tehran retaliated with missile and drone attacks on U.S. facilities across the Gulf and the broader Middle East. The U.S. reported no casualties from its latest strikes, though Iran claimed to have killed American forces in Jordan and Iraq. Iran has also blacklisted 11 more ships, threatening fines, confiscation, or detention for any vessels attempting to pass through the strait without its permission.
