Tiger Woods enter plea agreement for reckless driving charge

On Wednesday, Tiger Woods entered a plea agreement for a reckless driving charge following a rollover crash in March near his Florida home, according to a report by <source>. Woods appeared in Martin County court where he opted for a reduced charge after initially being charged with DUI. Judge ordered his driver's license suspension for five years.

Woods, 50, exhibited minimal reaction during the hearing, sitting at the defense table and gazing at the courtroom gallery. He was accompanied by his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, former President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law, who sat behind him during the proceedings. The golf star had previously pleaded not guilty to a driving under the influence charge.

Woods was apprehended after his SUV struck a truck and rolled over on Jupiter Island's beachside residential road. A sheriff's report revealed that he was found in possession of two pain pills and exhibited signs of impairment, though he declined a urine test. Neither Woods nor the other driver sustained injuries, though the crash caused $5,000 in damage to the truck, as per police records.

Woods claimed to a deputy that he was distracted by his phone and adjusting the radio when the incident occurred. Woods has been wrestling with multiple back and knee surgeries, car accidents, and addiction to pain medications, which have derailed his golf career. He has been involved in four crashes throughout his life. Following two crashes, Woods took a hiatus from the golf tour, returning only to seek treatment at an inpatient facility.

He made his first public appearance since his return on June 23, unveiling the PGA Tour's plans to revise its schedule for 2028. Despite his arrest, Woods continues to serve as chairman of the Future Competition Committee for the tour. He did not accept questions during that appearance.
