State accuses “Gagash” Nonyane of dishonesty in bail application

In the bail hearing of a Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) officer and his wife, both accused of fraud, the State Prosecutor, Advocate Martin Molokwane, has accused Peter "Gagash" Nonyane of dishonesty. Nonyane was asked to disclose his income in his initial affidavits but failed to do so. Later, he submitted a second affidavit where he revealed that he earns additional income through a partnership at a night club in Pretoria and as an events MC.

Nonyane and Charlotte Tibana, an estate attorney, are suspected of defrauding six estate accounts of approximately R4 million, resulting in 43 charges against them. Molokwane argued that Nonyane's late disclosures indicate dishonesty, stating that a police officer should have disclosed his precise income of R11,000 initially. He further claimed that the supplementary income Nonyane mentioned in his later affidavit is questionable and unverified.
