Smriti Mandhana becomes highest run-getter in women’s international cricket

On Thursday, Smriti Mandhana made history by becoming the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket, surpassing Mithali Raj's record. During India’s Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Group A match against Hong Kong in Dubai, Mandhana achieved this feat in her 303rd international innings, surpassing Mithali’s 10,868 runs. Mandhana scored an impressive 124 runs off just 64 balls, but was run out in the final over.

This remarkable innings helped India post 193/5. It is worth noting that this record is tied with Mithali for the joint-most 50-plus scores in women’s internationals. Mandhana also registered her 93rd 50-plus score and became the first Indian woman to score multiple centuries in Women's Twenty20 International cricket.
