Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and thank you for supporting Smiling Jacks Golf Society. We enjoyed a warm day at the beautiful Altaona Golf Resort, despite some of us spending more time wandering than intended. The course was in fantastic condition, with immaculate greens that several players used multiple times on each hole.
We thank the staff at Altaona for accommodating such a large group at an excellent rate. The hard work evident throughout the course was clear on every hole. A shout-out to Emma for keeping everyone supplied with refreshments, and to Julie for preparing delicious food early on her day off. Scoring was impressive on a challenging course.
Nearest the pin on hole 3: El Presidente, nearest the pin on hole 11: Connor McNamara, and nearest the pin in two on hole 13: Tony Clark. The Dino Dick prize went to Steph Paul, while Connor McNamara won the raffle, receiving a complimentary round of golf. Our next outing will be on Thursday, 1 October, at New Sierra Golf Resort.
