Saudi-Omani ties set example for Gulf relations, says ambassador

Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Oman, Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan, has stated that the strong bilateral relations between the two nations are a fundamental pillar supporting the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Speaking on the occasion of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq's recent visit to Saudi Arabia, the ambassador emphasized the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between Saudi Arabia and Oman, as well as the attention and care these relations receive from their respective leaderships.

Saudi-Omani relations, according to the ambassador, are built on a long history of brotherhood, good neighborliness, and mutual respect. These ties have been characterized by ongoing cooperation, understanding, and coordination between the two countries on various regional and international issues for over half a century. The ambassador highlighted that the visit by Sultan Haitham underscores the significance of these relations in the context of the changes and challenges facing the region.

He noted that Saudi-Oman relations serve as a model for Gulf relations based on dialogue, understanding, and coordination, which strengthen the region's security and stability and support paths of development and prosperity.

The ambassador emphasized that bilateral relations extend beyond the political sphere, encompassing areas such as economy, investment, trade, tourism, culture, and media. He stated that these relations are moving toward a new phase of partnership, including initiatives in clean energy, green hydrogen, Gulf-wide electricity and rail interconnection projects, as well as joint tourism initiatives.

These projects aim to develop destinations through exchange programs and joint marketing plans, further strengthening the economic ties between the two nations.
