Sangam ITI may shift to Lanco premises in Nellore district

Officials are considering relocating the Sangam ITI to the unfinished Lanco company buildings in Nellore district. Himanshu Shukla, the SPSR Nellore Collector, examined the structures in Tharunavayi village on Thursday following a request from Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, who represents the area. Shukla proposed shifting the institution once civil works on the structures are finished.

The ITI currently operates from the Government Polytechnic building in Atmakur. The Collector discussed necessary works with officials, including providing electricity, water and other infrastructure. Engineers estimate a ₹8 crore initial cost for the project. Shukla also suggested using funds from industry via Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to expedite the first phase of construction.

The ITI currently houses 120 students and 11 teachers. Shukla expressed confidence that the student population would grow once the institute moves to the new location.
