Saggese hits go-ahead single in the 10th in the Cardinals' 8-6 victory over the Dodgers

Fermín scored on Saggese's single to second base, giving the Cardinals a 6-5 lead. The Cardinals added two more runs later in the inning, first with a double by Joshua Báez, who pinch-hit in the eighth, and then a sacrifice fly by Alec Burleson. The Dodgers had leads of 3-0, 5-2, and 5-4 before the Cardinals tied the game in the eighth inning.

The Dodgers had potential winning runs in the ninth inning when Teoscar Hernández hit a ground-rule double and Kiké Hernández, pinch-hitting, struck out. Riley O Brien pitched the crucial 10th inning, earning his 35th save. The Dodgers led initially with a three-run homer from Freddie Freeman in the first inning, which snapped his 47-game homerless streak.

The 416-foot shot to center field was Ohtani's first since July 3 and helped score both Ohtani and Tommy Edman.
