Russian General Tied to Okhmatdyt Attack Reportedly Shot
A Russian Telegram channel claimed Maj. Gen. Nikolai Varpakhovich was shot twice outside a home in Saratov Oblast and remained in critical condition. The report has not been independently confirmed. Ukraine’s SBU alleges that Varpakhovich ordered and coordinated the July 2024 missile strike on Kyiv’s Okhmatdyt children’s hospital, which killed two people and injured dozens.
