Russia attacks major pharmaceutical storage complex in Kyiv Oblast

On September 3rd, Russian forces targeted the Biocon logistics complex in Kyiv Oblast's Boryspil district, causing significant damage to one of Ukraine's largest specialized pharmaceutical warehouses. The attack, reported by sources in Ukraine's pharmaceutical market, has potentially resulted in losses of billions of hryvnias. KhFK Biocon LLC, a company specializing in pharmaceutical logistics and warehousing, rents warehouse space to foreign pharmaceutical companies and offers customs-warehouse storage services for pharmaceutical products.

This incident is part of a series of Russian attacks on warehouses, distribution centers, and logistics facilities across Ukraine since August 31. Among the recent targets are a French retailer's Auchan warehouse in Odesa Oblast, a Nova Poshta terminal in Odesa Oblast, a Varus supermarket warehouse in Kyiv Oblast, and a Dnipro-M distribution center in Kyiv.

Additionally, a Ukrainian Railways depot in Kyiv and a factory in Irpin, both of which had been rebuilt after Russian attacks in 2022, have also been affected. While Agriculture and Food Minister Taras Vysotskyi expects food prices to rise due to the attacks, he reassures that the increase will not be critical. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been working with Ukrainian businesses to discuss logistical support and access to recovery financing as Russian strikes continue to damage warehouses and distribution infrastructure.
