Real Madrid: Mourinho criticises Asencio over off-field conduct

Real Madrid's manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his dissatisfaction with defender Raul Asencio over his off-field behavior. The 23-year-old received a fine and an eight-month driving ban after being found guilty of driving under the influence in the Gran Canaria region of Spain. Asencio's blood alcohol level was recorded at 0.90 mg/litre, far above the legal limit of 0.25 mg/litre in Spain.

In a fast-track trial, Asencio admitted to the violation and will be fined €14,400. This incident, along with allegations of his involvement in a sexual video featuring two young women aged 16 and 18 at the time, has significantly damaged Asencio's reputation. The defender, along with three former academy teammates, faces criminal court accusations related to the events that allegedly occurred in 2023.

Mourinho acknowledged Asencio's dedication to training, but emphasized that players must conduct themselves appropriately both on and off the field. The coach reiterated that Asencio's actions outside the club have negatively impacted Real Madrid's image and expressed his dissatisfaction with the defender's behavior.
