QFC, AlRayan Bank sign MoU to boost Islamic finance and capital markets

Doha, Qatar - Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), a prominent onshore financial and business hub, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AlRayan Bank, one of Qatar's leading Islamic banks. The agreement aims to improve banking access for QFC firms and work together to boost Islamic finance and capital markets in Qatar.

Under the terms of the MoU, QFC will promote AlRayan as a strategic banking partner for its licensed firms, referring new QFC firms to AlRayan to open corporate bank accounts. In return, AlRayan will create a tailored banking package for QFC firms and their employees, offering immediate banking services to staff new to Qatar.

The partnership will also focus on integrating their digital platforms to streamline the account opening process for QFC-registered entities. Both parties will share best practices and align with international regulatory standards to prevent, detect, and mitigate financial crime risks, such as money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud.

Additionally, QFC and AlRayan Bank will collaborate to ensure smooth data flow, standardized processes, and enhanced operational efficiency, especially concerning QFC client onboarding. This cooperation is expected to broaden access to banking and investment solutions provided by AlRayan Bank and its subsidiary, AlRayan Investment, while offering customized banking offers and special benefits for QFC-licensed firms and their employees.
