Punjab CM Orders Drainage, Sewerage Upgrades in 3,500 Villages

Punjab's Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given orders to speed up the implementation of the Model Village Project, with a focus on resolving drainage and sewerage issues in rural areas. During a special meeting, she was informed about progress made in over 3,500 villages where authorities are working on sewerage and drainage systems, as well as constructing brick-paved streets.

The meeting approved the formation of community-based organizations under the project and decided to involve various stakeholders such as assistant commissioners, community health mobilizers, Union Council secretaries, headmasters, and others in rural development. The chief minister also assigned members of the provincial assembly the task of monitoring development projects in their respective areas.

Maryam emphasized the urgency of addressing drainage and sewerage problems and ensuring proper paving and beautification of village streets.
