PPP lawmaker to seek court injunction over party membership suspension

People Power Party (PPP) lawmaker Jin Jong-oh plans to seek a court injunction to overturn his two-year suspension from the party. Jin's suspension was imposed by the PPP's ethics committee for supporting an independent candidate in a parliamentary by-election in Busan, despite the party fielding its own candidate in the same district.

Jin argues that the grounds for disciplinary action were not adequately proven by objective facts and evidence, and that the conduct does not meet the criteria for disciplinary action under party rules. He is also appealing a separate disciplinary action taken against him for insensitive remarks about the victim of a roundhouse kick assault case.
