NYSC extends service year of 27 corps members in Osun

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has extended the service year for 27 corps members in Osun State, following the scheme’s regulations. This decision comes after NYSC reported that 31 corps members absconded during their service year. Osun NYSC State Coordinator, Ekene Ita Kubiangha, made this announcement during the passing-out parade for 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members.

Kubiangha congratulated the corps members on successfully completing their national service and urged them to utilize the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained throughout their service year as they transition into their next phase of life. He emphasized the importance of developing entrepreneurial skills through the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, as these abilities are crucial for navigating the economy.

Kubiangha also emphasized the need for the corps members to remain disciplined, responsible, and committed to making positive contributions to society post-service. As part of the passing-out parade activities, Kubiangha conducted a monitoring exercise in Boripe and Ifelodun Local Government Areas of the Ikirun Zone. He stressed the importance of maintaining the positive values acquired during their service year and applying these experiences to their personal and professional growth.

Kubiangha encouraged the corps members to lead purposeful and impactful lives while inspecting the corps lodge and evaluating their welfare and safety.
