He pointed out that players as old as 26 and 27 were competing against 18-year-olds, creating an imbalance in the system. He also criticized the pursuit of former NFL players by universities like LSU. Saban warned that while LSU might win their case in Louisiana, appealing it could lead to unforeseen consequences and potentially change the ruling in the future.

The Alabama coach specifically advised LSU to be cautious in their approach. He expressed hope that the situation would be resolved without creating further problems for the program and its coach, Lane. Saban's comments underscore the growing concerns within college football about the current system's fairness and sustainability.
