NFR Extends 03 Pairs of Special Trains to Facilitate Smooth Passenger Movement during Festive Season

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has extended the services of three pairs of Festival Special trains to accommodate the anticipated passenger surge during the festive season. These train extensions will facilitate smooth passenger movement and alleviate congestion on busy routes.

The extended services include train numbers 05736/05735, which run between Katihar and Amritsar; 05932/05931, connecting Dibrugarh and Kolkata; and 03407/03408, operating between Bhagalpur and Katihar. These services have been extended to cover a total of 12 to 13 additional trips during the festive season.

Train 05736 (Katihar–Amritsar) Festival Special will run for an additional 12 trips from September 9 to November 25, 2026, while its return service, train 05735 (Amritsar-Katihar), will operate for 12 additional trips from September 11 to November 27, 2026. Train 05932 (Dibrugarh- Kolkata) Festival Special will run for an additional 13 trips from September 5 to November 28, 2026, with its return service, train 05931 (Kolkata - Dibrugarh), operating for 13 additional trips from September 7 to November 30, 2026.

The Bhagalpur-Katihar-Bhagalpur daily service, comprising train numbers 03407/03408, will continue to operate for 94 trips each in both directions from August 29 to November 30, 2026. These extended services will enable passengers to choose alternative travel options and experience a more comfortable journey.
