NDC disowns 10 Assembly candidates’ names published on INEC portal

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has denounced 10 candidates' names published by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the upcoming 2027 Anambra State House of Assembly elections. The party asserts that it neither nominated these individuals nor submitted their Form EC9E documents. The NDC Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, Theophilus Agada, made this assertion in a statement issued in Abuja, questioning the process by which these names appeared on the commission's list.

Agada's statement highlighted that the disowned candidates were not part of the party's nomination or appeal processes. Agada emphasized the importance of the party's responsibility to submit the names and credentials of their nominated candidates to INEC, indicating that the NDC had not provided the required documents for the 10 candidates whose names were later published. This development follows the NDC's previous threats to sue INEC over similar allegations.
