Narcissist masquerading as journalist – Presidency attacks Rufai Oseni after clash with Abati

The Presidency has rebuked television host Rufai Oseni in the wake of a contentious confrontation he had with his colleague, Reuben Abati, during Thursday's broadcast of Arise TV's Morning Show. According to the DAILY POST, the disagreement ensued when Rufai disparaged the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Senator Sandy Onor, labeling him as "Gbewudani" in response to a video circulating online.

In the clip, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike declared his intent to safeguard the Federal Capital Territory and Rivers State for APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. Oseni questioned the minister's support for an opposing party's candidate, asserting that the PDP candidate must be "Gbewudani," a phrase he interpreted to mean "hold my shirt," implying silence despite the party leader's advocacy.

The journalist's comment provoked Abati, who cautioned Oseni against remarks that could lead to legal repercussions, insisting, "Rufai, be careful, you’ll bring lawsuits on this station that the station will never be able to pay." In reaction to the exchange, Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication for President Bola Tinubu, denounced Oseni, labeling him a narcissistic OAP posing as a journalist.

Bwala's assertion on his X platform was, "That's what you get when you recruit a narcissistic OAP masquerading as a journalist. There is no day he does not defame people's character. But when you say one thing about him, he will tweet 24 times in a day against you."
