Naidu urges TDP leaders to prepare for local body polls

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged TDP machinery to prepare for the upcoming local body elections and strive for a better performance than the 2024 Assembly polls. During a meeting with Ministers and zonal observers, Naidu emphasized the importance of analyzing the party's performance in the local body elections, which will be the first contest since forming the government with BJP and Jana Sena Party.

He cautioned against differences with alliance partners, stating that the YSR Congress Party would exploit any political strife among allies. Naidu suggested that the TDP should comprise experienced leaders and fresh faces, promoting coalition government achievements through door-to-door campaigns at the village level. The TDP-led government's functioning has received positive feedback, and Naidu stressed the importance of prioritizing youth and women in candidate selection. Reservation for Backward Classes, set at 34% as per the Act of 1995, will remain a commitment.
