Married A Month Ago, Woman’s Neck-Slit Body Found In Water Tank In Indore

In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a 22-year-old woman named Vandana Patel, who had been married for only a month, was found dead in a water tank at her home in New Nehru Nagar. The police suspect the crime may have occurred on Thursday afternoon and are investigating the possibility of an honor killing. Vandana, a resident of Raj Nagar, had married Rupendra Patel in a love marriage just a month prior.

The victim sustained injuries to her neck and abdomen, consistent with a sharp weapon. Bloodstains inside the house indicate that the murder took place indoors before her body was disposed of in the water tank. Rupendra, who runs a roadside clothes vendor stall, returned home in the evening and discovered the crime upon noticing bloodstains and finding his wife missing.

He checked the water tank, recovered her body, and alerted the police. Forensic experts and police teams are currently examining the scene, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause and time of death. Police are questioning both the victim's husband, Rupendra, and her sister-in-law, who claims she was visiting a hospitalized relative at Sri Aurobindo Hospital. The police are analyzing the husbands' mobile location data and verifying their statements.
