Mandiri chief questions travel ban, seeks explanation

Mandiri executive director Amir Hadi has questioned the reasons behind his travel ban and is seeking an explanation. In a statement, he revealed he was unaware of the restriction and intends to contact Bukit Aman to clarify the situation and understand the process to lift it. Amir expressed his willingness to cooperate with the authorities if there is an ongoing investigation related to him or Mandiri.

He emphasized that a restriction without explanation contradicts democratic principles, stating that freedom of movement is a fundamental right for every citizen. Upon being contacted, Amir disclosed that he decided to check his status after a friend was denied entry into Malaysia after returning from Jakarta last week. He later discovered through the MyBorderPass app that he was subject to a travel restriction imposed by Bukit Aman. FMT has reached out to the home ministry for further comment.
