Maharashtra: 'Submit Proposals For Civic Facilities In Kanhan Municipal Council Area,' Says Minister Madhuri Misal

Mumbai, September 3, 2026 - The Maharashtra government is set to take significant actions to improve civic amenities in the Kanhan Municipal Council area, according to Minister of State for Urban Development Madhuri Misal. Speaking at a meeting at Mantralaya, Misal directed officials to submit proposals for funding essential infrastructure projects.

These include a weekly market, crematorium, vegetable market, and garden development, with funds potentially acquired through government, private, or acquisition methods. A comprehensive plan for the crematorium's development was also emphasized. Misal directed officials to explore funding options under the Nagarothan scheme, either in phases or by categorizing the proposed works, and to release funds as per regulations.

Additionally, a proposal for constructing a bus station on a designated site was requested. Officials were asked to evaluate the feasibility of creating a garden on a reserved amenity space at Mouza Kanhan. Further, proposals for shops and commercial premises on available land were also encouraged. Misal directed officials to remove any encroachments on reserved plots, ensuring adherence to rules.
