Khachanov shocks ailing Auger-Aliassime, Swiatek and Osaka advance at US Open

Karen Khachanov stunned Felix Auger-Aliassime at the US Open, pushing through a physically challenging match to secure a 6-7 (5/7), 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 victory. Auger-Aliassime, the third seed, struggled with multiple physical issues throughout the four-set affair, committing 47 unforced errors and serving poorly. Khachanov, ranked 50th in the world, capitalised on Auger-Aliassime's errors and served well, expressing his satisfaction with his performance.

The win marked Khachanov's first top-10 triumph of the year, and it came in the wake of another upset, with former world No. 1 Novak Djokovic exiting the tournament in the first round. Iga Swiatek and Naomi Osaka also advanced on Thursday, with the Polish champion defeating Nadia Podporoska 6-3, 6-2 and Osaka overcoming Katerina Siniakova 6-2, 5-7, 6-1.

Swiatek, a six-time Grand Slam champion, was in good form after a strong showing at the Toronto event, while Osaka fought back from a shaky start to secure a victory.
