Keralam prison officer booked for allegedly beating Kannur Central Jail inmate

The Kannur Town Police have registered a case against Kannur Central Jail prison officer Jishnu for allegedly beating a prisoner, Jalaludheen, according to a complaint filed by the inmate. The incident is alleged to have occurred on June 30, after the prisoners demanded to be taken to a hospital for medical treatment. The complaint was filed under Section 126(2) and 115(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The Kannur Judicial Magistrate Court directed the police to take action, leading to the registration of the case. The development follows a clash between KAAPA prisoners inside the jail the previous day. In response, security arrangements at Kannur Central Jail have been enhanced.
