History made! Accra Academy book first-ever NSMQ final Spot after dominant semi-final display

Accra Academy has achieved a historic milestone by qualifying for the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Grand Finale for the first time in the school's past. The Accra-based institution emerged victorious in their fiercely contested semi-final on Thursday, September 3, 2026, outscoring Bright Senior High School by 5 4 points and surpassing Achimota School's 43 points.

This marks a significant achievement for Accra Academy, which had previously never advanced to the Grand Finale despite years of participation in the country's top academic competition. The semi-final displayed a closely fought contest, with all three schools showcasing strong knowledge and quick thinking across various rounds. While Achimota School put up a determined effort, and Bright SHS maintained competitiveness, it was Accra Academy that ultimately outperformed the opposition in the final stages.
