GPHA honours 410 staff for outstanding service

The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) recognized the outstanding service of 410 employees from various departments who contributed to the authority's operations and development between 2021 and 2025. These awards were part of the festivities marking the GPHA's 40th anniversary, and the recipients were selected based on their performance, commitment, and length of service.

Dr. Samuel Danaa, the General Manager in charge of Administration at GPHA, praised the awardees for their hard work and dedication and urged them to use the recognition as motivation for further excellence. Mr. Eric Afre, Engineer and Chairman of the Awards Committee, explained that the 410 awardees were chosen from nominations received from different departments, with consideration given to factors such as punctuality, attendance, initiative, and dedication.

Captain James R. Quayson, Director of Ports, Takoradi, emphasized the importance of customer service, teamwork, and integrity in the employees' roles as ambassadors of GPHA and Ghana's ports. The Director-General of GPHA, Captain James R. Quayson, and representatives of the junior and senior staff unions encouraged staff to maintain their commitment to the authority and work together to achieve the organization's vision and mission.
