Frankfurt: Lufthansa schließt Check-in-Schalter am Fernbahnhof

Lufthansa will close the check-in counter at Frankfurt's main railway station, effective October 26th. The airline confirmed the closure of the AirRail terminal at Frankfurt's main station, where passengers can previously book flights and trains with Lufthansa, drop off luggage early, and check in for their flights. The return journey will see luggage transported back to the train station check-in counter.

This specific service, offered only in Frankfurt, will no longer be available. Passengers will now have to transport their luggage between the terminal and the station on their own. The airline states that the rationale behind the measure is to streamline processes and better utilize capacities. The benefits of joint booking for flights and train travel remain intact, with guaranteed connections and miles earned for both segments. It is unclear who will now manage Lufthansa Technik.
