Firm advances DRC copper exploration after drill results

Copper Intelligence Inc., a US-listed explorer, is advancing its copper exploration projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) following promising initial drilling results at the Butembo Copper Project. During the Clean Energy & Metals Virtual Investor Conference in August, the firm released drill-core data confirming strong near-surface copper mineralization extending over 300 metres along strike.

Andrew Groves, the Chairman of Copper Intelligence, stated that the company expects to release another six drill results this week, with the mineralized strike length now extending to about 1,400 metres and the potential to widen the mineralized zone to roughly 75 to 100 metres. The initial six holes delivered grades of 5%, 18%, and 30% copper, with a composite grade of 2.96% copper across each hole.

Groves expressed enthusiasm about the grades and accessibility of the deposit, noting that eastern Congo offers surplus power and strategic logistical advantages. The project's proximity to the Ugandan border enables easy export to the Port of Mombasa. Groves highlighted the potential for the deposit to become a world-class copper project, citing rising global demand for copper driven by electrification, data centers, defence spending, and electric vehicle production.
