Fernando Alonso Responds to Prospect of Racing Aston Martin at Le Mans Amid F1 Unhappiness

Fernando Alonso has not ruled out the possibility of racing Aston Martin GT3 or the Valkyrie at Le Mans 24 Hours, but only after Formula 1. The Hungarian and Dutch steps in chassis and engine development have yet to fully convince Alonso about his future in Formula 1. He remains committed to staying with Aston Martin beyond 2026, but acknowledges the regulations are not ideal for him.

Alonso still views Formula 1 as "not real Formula 1" and hopes future changes will restore its glory. He was pleased with the P9 result in Zandvoort, which gave a morale boost to the team at Silverstone. However, he feels the power unit performance at Zandvoort was underwhelming and hopes Monza can provide a better test. Alonso believes additional development can help Aston Martin become one of the fastest in corners.

His decision on future involvement with Aston Martin is dependent on the regulations, not just the car's performance. While Aston Martin's activities extend beyond Formula 1, with a GT3 team and a Valkyrie program for Le Mans and World Endurance Championship, Alonso's primary focus remains on Formula 1 for now.
