FCMB gets ISACA award for digital contributions

FCMB, the First City Monument Bank, has garnered recognition from the Lagos Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) for its significant contributions to technology governance, cybersecurity, risk management, audit, assurance, and digital trust in Nigeria. The bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Yemisi Edun, was presented with a commemorative plaque at the ISACA Lagos Chapter’s 30th anniversary celebration held on August 21.

This accolade underscores the partnership between FCMB and ISACA in fostering knowledge sharing, professional development, and enhanced standards throughout Nigeria’s technology sector. Edun emphasized the organization's shared dedication to bolstering professional capabilities and standards essential for digital trust, as technology-driven financial services necessitate robust governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and assurance practices.

He expressed confidence in ISACA's commitment to developing professionals equipped with the necessary expertise and leadership to tackle emerging risks and leverage new technologies. Erik Prusch, Global CEO of ISACA, acknowledged Nigeria’s information technology and cybersecurity professionals’ experience and resilience. He emphasized the need for well-trained employees to support growth, adapt to change, and capitalize on emerging technologies.

Justus Osuji, President of the ISACA Lagos Chapter, noted the chapter’s three-decade-long commitment to professional service, leadership, and knowledge development. He highlighted the chapter’s vital contributions to information systems auditing, cybersecurity, governance, risk, compliance, and emerging technologies in Nigeria and globally.
