EPL: Sarr hurt after Crystal Palace block dream transfer to Anfield, Sage admits

Crystal Palace striker Ismaïla Sarr is expected to take some time to process the collapse of his transfer to Liverpool, according to head coach Pierre Sage. The Senegal international had been linked with a late move to Anfield during the transfer window, having finished as Palace's top scorer in a strong season. However, the deal did not go through, leaving Sarr at Selhurst Park.

Sage acknowledged that Sarr may find the situation difficult, given the chance to play for one of Europe's biggest clubs. "He has to digest for sure because it's a dream for a lot of players to play with this kind of club," Sage said. "He had a good opportunity but in the end it didn't work. If he wants to continue, you have to have a good season with us as he did last year.

We know he needs time." Sarr has yet to play for Palace this season due to a groin injury, and he will miss Saturday's match against Fulham. Sage believes that time will help Sarr move past the disappointment and refocus on his career at Palace.
