Emirates unveils world’s first electric Premium Economy seat with full-height privacy screen

Emirates has introduced the world's first electric premium economy seat with a privacy screen, set to debut on their newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft. The innovative seats feature an electrically operated divider that passengers can adjust to lock into place for enhanced privacy during sleep, meals, or work. The same controls manage seat positioning, including lounge and meal modes.

These seats, spanning 20 inches wide and with a pitch of up to 39 inches, recline into a cradle position without encroaching on the adjacent passenger's space. They also include Emirates' U-Dream headrest and a manually operated leather footrest. Wireless charging and USB-C charging points are now standard in premium economy, while tray tables integrate phone holders for an additional display.

The airline is simultaneously upgrading in-flight entertainment with 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreens on their newly delivered A350 aircraft. Existing cameras on the aircraft have been expanded with exterior cameras providing views from the left and right sides, complementing forward and downward-facing cameras. Emirates launched its premium economy cabin in 2022 and has been progressively rolling it out across its fleet, now available across all markets served by its A350 aircraft.

The airline also adds the cabin to its refurbished Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s as part of its fleet retrofit program.
