Discussions on importance of clean data, sustainable AI technologies

Nilanjan Dey, a professor at Techno International New Town, emphasized during the international conference on Quantum Enhanced Sustainable Technologies for AI Systems that clean and diverse data is crucial for reliable artificial intelligence systems. He cautioned against relying solely on "big data" and highlighted the importance of "small data" when data availability is limited.

Dey also discussed the role of synthetic data, noting that it could be beneficial when real-world data is scarce; however, excessive dependence on synthetic data could lead to increased errors in large language models. He advocated for clear limits on its use.

On the final day of the conference, S. Praveen Kumar, a senior scientist at BARC, suggested that quantum technology and AI would likely work together in the future. He pointed out that data centers would face significant electricity demands and proposed nuclear power as a potential solution. Kumar also proposed that future facilities could evolve into "quantum-enhanced AI data centres."

Greg Skulmoski of Bond University, Australia, stressed the importance of translating university research into real-life applications and adding business value to research. NVSN Sharma, from NIT-Warangal, spoke about Terahertz technology and its applications in defense and healthcare.
