Brandenburg: Polizei prüft Bekennerschreiben nach Sabotage am Stromnetz

Following a power grid sabotage incident in southern Brandenburg, the Brandenburg police are investigating a confession letter. "The Brandenburg Police were informed today about a confession letter in connection with the attack in Turnow-Preilack," said a spokesperson for the police. The authenticity of the letter is under further investigation and cannot be confirmed or denied at this point.

No additional details were provided by the spokesperson. Unknown individuals had used homemade flying objects resembling fireworks on Tuesday morning to direct conductive material toward high-voltage lines. More than a dozen devices for this purpose had been found so far. There was no power outage, but hours later, a disruption occurred at a transformer station in Bergheim near Cologne.

Again, shooting devices and pyrotechnics were found nearby. "The signs indicate that both attacks are part of a coordinated assault on our energy supply," said Brandenburg's Interior Minister Jan Redmann (CDU) in a statement from his ministry.
