Blood donation is best service to society: Srikakulam Collector

Srikakulam Collector and president of the Indian Red Cross Society, Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar, emphasized on Thursday that blood donation is the most valuable service one can offer to society. He explained that donors provide a direct lifeline to patients fighting for their lives in hospitals. Pundkar, who was honored with a gold medal by Governor Abdul Nazeer in Vijayawada on behalf of the IRCS, expressed his gratitude to the IRCS chairman P. Jagan Mohana Rao and the Public Relations Officer P. Chaitanya for organizing blood donation camps.

During a ceremony in Srikakulam, Pundkar also honored Chaitanya, who had previously received a national award from the Centre for his numerous service activities across the Srikakulam district. Rao stated that both Pundkar and Joint Collector Farman Ahmed Khan have been actively supporting the IRCS in carrying out various charitable initiatives, including operating an orphanage and an old age home in Srikakulam.
