AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva reunite for dance musical ‘Moonwalk’

Renowned music composer AR Rahman and acclaimed choreographer Prabhu Deva are set to reunite on the silver screen in a new dance musical titled 'Moonwalk'. This family-friendly film, directed by Manoj NS, marks the director's debut and is scheduled for release worldwide in 2026. Rahman will not only compose the music but also appear on-screen as an "angry young film director" alongside Prabhu Deva, who plays the role of Babootty, a young film choreographer.

The film promises a blend of comedy, music, and family entertainment, with Rahman contributing to the film's soundtrack with five original songs, including hits like Yethu, Macarena, and Tinga. Prabhu Deva is also set to perform in the musical number Mayile alongside Rahman. Their collaboration on 'Moonwalk' is expected to resonate with fans of their previous joint ventures, including Tamil films like Kaadhalan, Mr Romeo, Love Birds, and Minsara Kanavu.

To add to the film's comedic appeal, actor Yogi Babu will play 16 distinct characters, initially unaware that he'd be required to portray multiple roles. The ensemble cast features Aju Varghese, Arjun Ashokan, Satz, Nishma Chengappa, Sushmitha Nayak, Redin Kingsley, Rajendran, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, and Deepa Shankar. Behindwoods Productions, with Manoj NS, Divya Manoj, and Praveen Elak as producers, are bringing this eagerly anticipated reunion to audiences across India and internationally.

The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, incorporating the expertise of cinematographer Anoop V Shylaja, editors Raymond Derrick Crasta, and choreographers Sekhar VJ, Piyush Chazia, and Sandy.
