The organization has pointed out the public's growing discontent with the poor state of municipal infrastructure and basic services. Amnesty International has emphasized that this vote is a critical opportunity to demand political accountability.

The right to adequate housing, clean water, and sanitation are all part of the Bill of Rights, according to Cassandra Dorasamy from Amnesty International SA. Dorasamy stated, "The government has the responsibility to ensure access to these rights."
