2027: Many Northern govs can’t campaign due to poor performance — Kwankwaso

Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, has expressed his concerns about the difficulties that many Northern governors will face in campaigning for the 2027 elections due to their poor performance in office. Kwankwaso made this assertion during a town hall meeting in Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State.

He also warned against the All Progressives Congress, APC, believing that they cannot lose an election, citing the example of a sitting president who lost an election previously. Kwankwaso emphasized that it is a grave mistake for those in the northern part of Nigeria, who have performed poorly, to think they can go out campaigning without facing significant opposition and anger from the public due to insecurity issues.

He criticized the management of public funds by state governors and the Federal Government, pointing out that the country has received significantly higher revenues than in previous years. Kwankwaso recalled that during his governorship in 1999, states and local governments received about N4 billion each.
