12-year-old boy killed in Gurun crash involving motorcycle, two lorries

In Gurun, a horrific accident claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy on today's afternoon. The incident occurred at Masjid Batu 3, Jalan Jeniang. The Kedah Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre received an urgent call at 1:36pm via NG999 line. The caller reported that a victim was trapped under a lorry. Consequently, the PGO dispatched an LFRT fire engine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle from Guar Chempedak Fire and Rescue Station to the location.

The accident involved a tar-loaded lorry and a motorcycle. Additionally, a trailer was parked on the roadside close to the scene. The 12-year-old boy, the sole victim, was believed to be trapped under the lorry. He sustained serious injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead by a Health Ministry medical officer at the scene. His body was then handed over to the police for further proceedings.

Fortunately, another 14-year-old boy involved in the accident survived the ordeal. Emergency services worked tirelessly to provide medical assistance and ensure the safety of the area. Firefighters conducted a thorough clean-up operation at the scene, confirming it was secure and safe at 3:59pm.
