Western North Regional Minister inspects Bia West projects

The Western North Regional Minister, Wilbert Petty Brentum, has toured ongoing development projects in the Bia West District as part of the Regional Coordinating Council's efforts to monitor progress. The inspection aimed to evaluate the development of 16 projects, funded mainly through the District Assemblies Common Fund, and ensure they were completed on schedule.

These projects include mechanized boreholes, classroom blocks, a kindergarten, CHPS compounds, and a nurses' bungalow. Among the major projects inspected was the 24-hour economy market in Oseikojokrom, which is expected to serve as a key commercial hub for the district and boost local trade. Other communities benefiting from the projects include Kramokrom, New Papase, Ntonsue, Asuopri, Asuontaa, New Agogo, Adjofua, Kojo Aba, and Oseikojokrom.

Brentum expressed satisfaction with the projects' progress, highlighting the need for regular monitoring to ensure effective execution and timely completion. The district has also received government-funded projects such as a girls' dormitory for the Bia Lamplighter College of Education and road constructions under the Big Push program.

Brentum emphasized that the projects' timely completion demonstrates the government's development agenda's progress and noted that the region is witnessing increased infrastructure development. The Bia West District Chief Executive, Matthew Annor, expressed satisfaction with the government's funding to ensure contractor payments upon project completion.

Annor particularly praised the contractor's approach to the 24-hour economy market at Oseikojokrom, describing it as positive and optimistic about the facility's completion. These projects are anticipated to significantly improve residents' lives, particularly through enhanced access to health and education services, and the 24-hour economy market is expected to stimulate commercial activity and foster cross-border trade due to Bia West's proximity to Côte d'Ivoire.
