US women look to jell quickly in Berlin as World Cup looms with little practice time

The United States women's national basketball team is facing a tight schedule as they prepare for the Women's Basketball World Cup in Berlin. With a limited amount of practice time, the team will need to quickly come together and gel as a unit to have any chance of winning a fifth consecutive gold medal. Only eight games will be played in the tournament, down from the previous World Cup where the U.S. played five preliminary round matches.

Coach Kara Lawson is planning to be direct with her players and focus on installing information during the limited practice sessions they have. The team features young and new players such as Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and Paige Bueckers, with half of the roster making their World Cup debut. Veteran guard Chelsea Gray believes that even though the team hasn't practiced together much, their knowledge of each other's strengths and the fact that they scout each other daily in the WNBA will help them quickly adapt on the court.
