URCS provides aid to victims of Russian air attack on Odesa

The United Kingdom has criticized Russia's "aggressive and unwise attack" in Leipzig, Germany, reaffirming Europe's determination to safeguard regional stability. Prime Minister Andy Burnham asserted on Tuesday that Russia's efforts to weaken their collective resolve and commitment to supporting Ukraine are fruitless and destined to fail.

Burnham praised Germany's "tough measures," emphasizing that the UK's promise to persist in backing Ukraine, despite Russia's invasion, remains steadfast. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte affirmed in a post on X that the alliance is committed to bolstering its capacity to dissuade and shield all allies from any threat. Germany blamed Russia for last month's unsuccessful assault involving a bomb-laden drone at Leipzig Airport and announced various punitive actions against Moscow.

Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt announced that the nation's threat level assessment had been upgraded from "general" to "high," with heightened scrutiny of Russians. Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul ordered the closure of the Russian consulate in Bonn, while the government revoked the lease for the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin.

Responding to the incident, following his attendance at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, President Vladimir Putin denied that the evidence against his country was fabricated. He labeled Berlin's punitive actions a "serious error," alleging that Chancellor Friedrich Merz's administration was attempting to distract from domestic issues ahead of the approaching elections.
