Todd Monken on past Deshaun Watson games: ‘I haven’t really looked’

Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken has stated that he has not closely reviewed Deshaun Watson's past performance with the team. The 2026-27 NFL season is approaching, and Monken is focused on building a solid plan for the veteran quarterback ahead of his first regular season start since 2024. Monken explained that he has only looked at Watson's film from afar, without diving into the details.

He emphasized that he takes every player on the roster at face value and does not make judgments based on past performances. Monken expressed his belief in Watson's potential, stating that he expects the veteran to play well and prove him right. The former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator acknowledged that Watson's time with the Browns has not been as successful as expected, with the quarterback recording relatively low passing yardage and touchdowns during his four-year tenure.
