Texans give WR Kayshon Boutte, 4 others new numbers for 2026 season

The Houston Texans have announced new jersey numbers for the upcoming 2026 season, with several players making changes to their current assignments. Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, who previously wore No. 9 with the New England Patriots, will now be representing his new team with the number 14. This switch comes after Houston re-signed tight end Brevin Jordan, necessitating a new number for Boutte.

Jared Wayne, a surprise standout during training camp, has also changed his number from 89 to 17. This marks the third time in three seasons that Wayne has altered his jersey number. Brett Wayne wore No. 14 as a rookie on the practice squad before switching to No. 89 the following year.

Defensive end Sebastian Harsh, an undrafted free agent from NC State, will begin his tenure with the Texans in a new number, 54. This change comes after the team traded Jarrett Patterson, who had previously worn No. 74. Harsh chose this number as it is close to home since it was his college jersey number while playing for the Wolfpack.

Center Evan Brown, the team's starting center, will revert back to his old number with the Arizona Cardinals, 63. This is because he initially started the season with No. 67, which belonged to former Texans player Jarrett Kingston during training camp. Brown will now wear No. 63, the number he previously wore during his time with the Cardinals.

Offensive tackle Nathan Thomas, who has played both offensive tackle and guard, will be wearing the number 78. This is a new number for Thomas, as he previously wore 62 and 71 during his time in Arlington and Louisiana, respectively.
