Tehran still seeks negotiated solution with Washington, says Iranian President

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated on Monday that Tehran remains committed to finding a negotiated resolution to the ongoing conflict with the United States. This stance was expressed during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan.

Pezeshkian emphasized that "the continuation of the war is not in anyone's interest" and advocated for "dialogue and cooperation" as the pathway to resolving existing problems. This sentiment echoed his previous declaration before leaving for Kyrgyzstan, where he stated that "Iran is not seeking war" and warned that they would respond decisively to any aggression.

The conflict intensified with Iran announcing it had targeted US forces in Jordan and the UAE in retaliation for US airstrikes against the Iranian island of Larak. Pezeshkian's comments underscore Iran's resolve to avoid instability and turmoil in the region, stressing that such conditions would pose challenges for all countries involved.
