Saudi praised for bravery after saving man from drowning in Dubai Creek

A Saudi man, Abdulrazzaq bin Zaal bin Jabr Al Ruwaili, has been commended by Dubai Police for saving a drowning individual from Dubai Creek. Brigadier Dr Hassan Suhail Al Suwaidi, director of the Ports Police Station, presented Mr Al Ruwaili with a certificate of appreciation, acknowledging his quick thinking and bravery. The incident's specifics remain undisclosed, but Brig Al Suwaidi emphasized the humanitarian values, community spirit, and readiness to assist others that Mr Al Ruwaili demonstrated.

Such actions, according to the police official, showcase public awareness and underscore the residents' role in enhancing safety, security, and quality of life in the community. Mr Al Ruwaili, however, downplayed his actions, stating they were simply an act of basic humanity. He also praised Dubai Police for their ongoing efforts to bolster safety and security throughout the community.

The Dubai Police regularly recognize residents who exhibit exemplary conduct. In May, an Indian resident was honored for returning a found envelope containing Dh100,000 ($27,230) near Al Raffa. Another Jordanian resident received commendation for returning Dh200,000 discovered in a public car park in Bur Dubai.
