Rahul Gandhi Urges Congress Leaders To Stand Firm On Party Ideology

Mumbai witnessed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi urging newly-appointed district-level party leaders in Maharashtra to remain steadfastly committed to the Congress ideology and work towards ensuring justice for the populace. The former Congress president addressed the concluding session of a ten-day training program for the newly appointed district Congress presidents near Nashik.

Over the course of nearly two hours, Gandhi engaged with the leaders and their respective families. Prashant Kishor demanded an investigation into Tejashwi Yadav's alleged involvement in the Bihar 'dustbin' scam.

Gandhi's message to the party leaders, as conveyed by Congress Working Committee member Arif Naseem Khan, was clear: the district presidents needed to stand resolutely with the party's ideology and fight for justice for the people. In addition to his dialogue with the district presidents, Gandhi showcased his proficiency in karate and jujutsu, emphasizing the significance of cultivating both mental and physical fortitude.

On the same day, Gandhi paid a one-day visit to Nashik, where he met senior Maharashtra Congress leaders, interacted with tribal students and representatives, and reviewed the party's organizational readiness. As part of its organizational restructuring, the Maharashtra Congress had appointed 69 new district and city presidents in May. Former Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan informed that state Congress leaders engaged with Gandhi during the meeting to discuss "current important issues" affecting Maharashtra.

This visit marked Gandhi's second to Maharashtra since August 22, during which he participated in the Pune leg of the "Chhatron Ki Goonj" student movement, which addressed concerns such as paper leaks, examination irregularities, and increasing tuition fees.
